Woman Assaulted In South Belfast

A woman has been attacked and threatened during an aggravated burglary in south Belfast.

The incident happened at a property in Beit Street at around 6am on Sunday.

The man entered the house, assaulted and threatened the woman, and then fled the scene on a bicycle.

He is described as around 6ft tall with short dark hair and was wearing a white hooded top.

The woman, aged in her 50's and registered disabled, was taken to hospital for treatment for facial injuries and shock.

Detective Sergeant McNally said: "This was a disgraceful attack on a vulnerable person and I would urge anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area or who has any information about this incident to come forward and give that information to detectives at Musgrave on 101. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was threatened at gunpoint at a house in Co Antrim. The incident happened at a property in the Hillside Drive area of Dunloy on Monday. A masked man, armed with a gun, forced his way into the house and threatened the female occupant.

Traffic Warning For South Belfast Ahead Of Northern Ireland Match
Road users are advised to plan for potential traffic delays in the south Belfast area on Friday, 15th November due to the UEFA Nations League football match between Northern Ireland and Belarus. Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.
