Man Dies In Co Down Road Crash

A man has died is a road crash in County Down.

The accident happened on the Killowen Road in Rosstrevor shortly before 6.30am on Friday.

Two other men were taken to hospital, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Killowen Road is closed and motorists are being urged to seek an alternative route.

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane said: "There is a sense of shock at the news that a man has died and other injured in a road traffic accident while travelling to work.

"This is the latest in a line of tragedies on South Down roads over the past year and the local community are devastated by this news.

"I offer my sincere condolences to the family of the man and I hope that those injured make a full and speedy recovery."

Man Dies In Tyrone Farm Accident
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has launched an investigation after a man died in a farm accident in Co Tyrone. Emergency services were called to the farm in the Coolaghy Road area of Ardstraw on Sunday, 02 September. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem is to be carried out.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Crash
The PSNI have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road crash involving a motorcycle and a car. The accident happened on the Monagh Road in Turf Lodge on Saturday. A 20-year-old man died in the collision. Police say that the death is the 57th fatality on NI roads so far this year. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.
