Education Minister Highlights Importance Of Pre-School Education
Education Minister John O'Dowd has highlighted the importance of pre-school education during a visit to Forkhill Pre-School Playgroup in County Armagh.
During the visit, the minister was given a tour of the playground by pupils of the school.
Speaking at the school, Minister O'Dowd said: "Early years' education has a hugely positive effect on children's futures. It builds upon the positive learning environment children have at home, providing a rich variety of challenging play activities and experiences that help set the foundation, not just for their first few years in Primary School but for their future success.
"Every year I encourage parents to participate in the pre-school education programme and I am delighted that the Forkhill Pre-School Playgroup is part of that programme."
