Lisburn Train Hit Piece Of Construction Equipment - Translink
A train has struck a piece of construction equipment on the railway line in Lisburn, Translink has confirmed.
The incident happened at around 6.45am on Thursday and disruption was caused to some train services.
No-one was injured in the incident.
A spokesperson for Translink said: "Safety is our top priority and we are currently carrying out a full investigation into the nature of this incident. We have also advised and will be working with the Rail Accident Investigation Branch and PSNI.
"The line will remain closed to facilitate the on-going investigation; however we will be working hard to get the line cleared and services resumed as soon as possible."
The firm also issued an apology to customers.

Investigation Begins Into Train Fire
An investigation has begun into a fire that broke out on a Belfast - Dublin train yesterday evening. 114 passengers were on board train when the fire began in the locomotive of the main Dublin Enterprise train. The train stopped at Gorawood, an out-of-use station several miles north of Newry, shortly after 19:00.

Calls For Translink Not To Drift Into Deficit
Alliance Regional Development spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has called on the Department for Regional Development to not let Translink drift into deficit. Translink is expected to make a £2 million profit this year but a £22 million deficit over the two years after that.

Quarter Of Million Translink Train Seats Left Empty
Around a quarter of a million Northern Ireland train seats are left vacant each and every week. The figures were generated during a study of an average week over the last year. However, these statistics also incorporate off-peak times. The report has suggested more Translink train seats were empty than occupied, across Northern Ireland.

Concrete blocks derail Derry-bound train
The Belfast to Londonderry rail line was disrupted last night when large concrete blocks and a metal bar were left on the line. The incident happened at Ballymena shortly after leaving Belfast's Great Victoria Street station. The blocks caused damage to the train's fuel tanks and braking system.
