Gang Attack Man During Burglary In South Belfast

A gang of three men have attacked another man during an armed burglary in south Belfast.

The incident happened in the Diamond Gardens area at around 8.10pm on Tuesday.

The men, one armed with a small knife, took the keys of a black Audi A6, and made off in the car in the direction of Finaghy Road North.

The men are described as being in their mid to late 30's, between 5ft 10inches to 6ft in height and of medium and heavy builds. One man was wearing a light blue hooded raincoat with the hood pulled over his head, and the other two had dark coloured raincoats with their hoods pulled up. It is believed that all three men had were wearing light coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Constable Sam McCallum is asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them at Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police appeal for information on robbery
Police in Castlereagh are appealing for information regarding a robbery in the Newtown Park area at 8.40pm last night. Two men, one armed with what appeared to be a hand-gun and the other with a sledgehammer, entered a convenience store and forced staff to hand over money. The owner of a Smart car was threatened by a man, after parking the vehicle at around 10pm in Stockmans Lane, and told to hand over his keys. The man made off in the vehicle in the direction of the motorway.

Man injured during armed robbery
One man has been injured following an armed robbery at an off-licence in south Belfast yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 6pm, when two masked and armed men entered the premises in the Ormeau Road area of the city and threatened a male member of staff.

Police have launched an investigation after a man armed with an iron bar robbed an off licence in Co L'Derry. The incident happened in the Sackville Street area at around 10pm on Tuesday, 19 July. The man made off with a small sum of cash and fled the scene on foot.

Man Arrested In Connection With Serious Assault In Larne
A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Larne on Monday, 25 September. At around 10.35pm, two hooded men wearing dark coloured clothing, forced their way into a house in the Ballycraigy Ring area.
