Warning Issued To Householders Following A Number Of Burglaries
Police in Castlereagh have issued a reminder to householders to secure their properties following a number of burglaries in the area on Saturday 30 January.
A woman in a house in the Ballylenaghan Park area of Belfast disturbed an intruder at approximately 7.30pm. The lady was upstairs when she heard a noise and shouted at a man who was downstairs and he made off. It is not believed anything was stolen. The suspect was wearing dark clothing and had his face covered.
Elsewhere, two men entered a property in the Martinville Park area of Belfast shortly after 8.30pm. The men were disturbed by the male occupant of the property and they made off on foot.
It was reported that sometime between 7pm and midnight entry was forced to a second property in the Martinville Park area.
Detective Sergeant James Johnston is appealing for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in these areas on Saturday evening to contact police on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Substation Vandals Leave 6,000 Properties Without Electricity
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), the network company, has strongly condemned the deliberate interference with electricity equipment in the Ballysillan area on Sunday and Monday nights. Vandals broke into the substation after 11pm on Sunday night, interfering with equipment and leaving over 6,000 properties without power.

Number Of Properties Searched In Lower Shankill Area
A number of properties in west Belfast have been searched by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force on Sunday 19th February. The searches in the lower Shankill area was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the west Belfast UDA.

An investigation has been launched after burglars stole medication from a house in Co L'Derry. The incident happened in the Galliagh Park area just after 1am on Tuesday, 01 May. The occupant was threatened at knifepoint and the suspects made off with cash and medication.

Two Men Arrested Over Murder Of Brian McIlhagga Released
Two men arrested over the murder of Brian McIlhagga have been released. Mr McIlhagga, 42, was shot and beaten by a gang after he was dragged from a house in the Riverview Park area in Ballymoney in January 2015. A woman who was also in the house at the time was also attacked. Four children were also in the property.

Four Arrested After Cannabis Seized In Portadown
Four people have been arrested after police seized £8,000 worth of cannabis in Portadown. The seizures were made after a number of house searches in the Churchill Park area on Monday, 03 October. A sum of cash was also seized.
