Schoolboys targeted in 'sectarian' attack
Police have said that they are treating an attack on schoolboys outside a secondary school in north Belfast as "sectarian".
During the incident, a man on a scooter, who is thought to have been carrying an iron bar, grabbed a boy outside St Gabriel's Secondary School on the Crumlin Road this morning. The child, who was uninjured in the attack, broke free and fled.
The man then made off towards the predominantly Protestant Hesketh Street area.
The incident follows a series of attacks with paint bombs and fireworks on houses and cars of both Protestants and Catholics in north Belfast last night.
Following earlier paint attacks in the Somerdale Park and Kingsmere Avenue areas, a number of houses in the Mountainview Park area were attacked.
No-one was injured in the attacks, but windows were smashed and there was some damage to property.
