Man Charged Over Ballycastle Murder
A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of Anthony McErlain.
The body of Mr McErlain was discovered at a flat in the Broombeg View area in Ballycastle, Co Antrim, on Thursday.
Christopher Patrick Keenan, 33, appeared before Coleraine Magistrates' Court today, 01 February.
A 50-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday, remains in police custody.
The senior detective leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Talbot, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community in Ballycastle for their help and cooperation over recent days as the investigation team has gone about investigating this vicious crime.
"The support we have received has been phenomenal. We are grateful to all of those who have been working with us to piece together a clearer picture of Mr McErlain's movements and of the circumstances leading up to his death last Thursday.
"I would ask anyone who may be able to help but who has not yet spoken to police, to please do so. The number to call is 101.
"If someone would prefer to give their information without leaving their details they can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

Local towns awarded £1m to attract investment
Close to £1 million has been awarded to 17 towns across Northern Ireland to help them attract shoppers and investors. The Department for Social Development (DSD) supported project, which totals £862,000, will hope to benefit projects ranging from events and advertising campaigns to schemes to improve the attractiveness of town centres.

Lorry driver appears in court over drugs seizure
A 39-year-old lorry driver, Patrick David McAuley has appeared in court today charged with possession and intent to supply a class B drug. The charge relates to the seizure of 300 kilos of cannabis with an estimated street value of £1.5 million from a lorry at Belfast docks on Thursday.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
