Residents Evacuated Following Security Alert In L'Derry

Residents have been evacuated from their homes following a security alert in L'Derry.

Homes were evacuated on Thursday afternoon following reports of a suspicious object in the Southway area.

Army bomb disposal experts and police are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off.

A respite centre has been opened at Long Tower Youth Club for residents who are unable to get to their homes.

A pipe bomb has been found following a security alert in Strabane, County Tyrone. A number of homes were evacuated in the area this morning, as army bomb disposal experts were called in to examine a suspicious object that had been discovered in Springhill Park.

Security Alert In Coleraine
Residents have been evacuated from their homes following a security alert in Coleraine. A suspicious device was discovered in the Glebe Avenue area on Friday. Police are currently at the scene and the road has been closed.

Residents Evacuated Following Suspected Gas Leak In L'Derry
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes following a suspected gas leak in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Spencer Road area close to the train station. 12 people had to be taken to hospital after suffering headaches, however no-one is believed to be seriously injured. The road was closed and the fire service carried out checks.

Co Down Road Reopens Following Fire
A County Down road has reopened following a fire on Friday, 14 July. The Church Street area in Downpatrick was closed and diversions were put in place. The fire was discovered by officers on mobile patrol who were in attendance at a flat and they raised the alarm and residents were able to exit their properties.
