75-Year-Old Woman Killed In Bangor Carriageway Road Accident

A 75-year-old woman has died in a serious road accident on the A2 dual carriageway between Bangor and Holywood.

The two car collision occurred at around 2.10pm on Monday 04 January, close to the Devils Elbow at Carney Hill.

The woman was the driver of one of the cars.

The male driver of the second car was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed for a number of hours following the accident while police carried out a forensic examination.

Senior Investigating officer Inspector Collins has appealed for witnesses to get in touch by calling 101.

Police are appealing for witnesses of a serious road accident in Maghera, Co L'Derry, on Sunday night. A man in his 20s is in a critical condition in hospital following the two car collision on the Coleraine Road. It is understood a number of people were injured in the collision but none of them seriously.
