Motorcyclist dies in Newtownards
A motorcyclist has died after a road traffic collision in Newtownards on Friday.
The incident occurred at around 12pm when the man's motorcycle collided with a car on the Upper Gransha Road and Kerr's Road.
The road remained closed as police examined the scene this afternoon. Motorists are asked to use alternative routes in the meantime.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact police in Newtownards on 028 9181 8080.
Today's victim was the 119th person to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Moneyslane, County Down. The road accident occurred on the Katesbridge Road on Sunday afternoon, close to Banbridge. The road has now reopened. The name of the man who died has not yet been released. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

The man is understood to have died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor on the Ballymacanallen Road at around 1.25pm on Wednesday. An investigation has been launched and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

Police have launched an investigation following the attempted murder of a police officer in east Belfast. A serving officer detected a suspicious object under his vehicle when parked at Shandon Park on Saturday afternoon, 01 June. ATO were called to the scene and the device was declared a viable explosive.
