Two Men Arrested Over Peggy O'Hara Funeral Released

Two men arrested in connection with dissident republican activity in relation to a number of offences at the wake and funeral of Peggy O'Hara in July have been released.

The men, aged 53 and 34, were detained in Strabane on Tuesday by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch.

The 53-year-old suspect has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

The 34-year-old has been released unconditionally.

Peggy O'Hara was the mother of Patsy O'Hara, one of the hunger strikers who died in prison in 1981.

Three people have been released by police investigating a number of offences at the wake and funeral of Peggy O'Hara. Two men, aged 44 and 57, and a woman, 43, were released unconditionally, after a number of masked women and women attended the funeral. Peggy O'Hara was the mother of an INLA member who died in a hunger strike in Long Kesh in 1981.

Woman Arrested Over Peggy O'Hara Funeral
A 51-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to offences at the wake and funeral of Peggy O'Hara in July. The woman was arrested in L'Derry and has been detained at Musgrave Police Station. Peggy O'Hara was the mother of an INLA member who died in a hunger strike in Long Kesh in 1981.
