'Significant' Explosives Seizure Welcomed

The seizure of a "significant" amount of explosives and munitions in the Twinbrook area has been welcomed by Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann.

"The seizure of a significant amount or materials including explosives, component parts and munitions is to be welcomed," Ms McCann said. "The storage of these items in a residential area where many elderly people live, endangering the safety of these residents and indeed others in the long term given the nature of the material seized.

"There is no place for armed actions in our society. Those who are intent on pursuing it need to stop immediately. There is a peaceful and democratic path towards achieving a united Ireland and a new Republic. Armed actions will not in any way bring those goals any closer."
