Searches Continue In Limavady

Residents who were evacuated from their homes as part of a security alert in Limavady have returned to their homes, however the investigation is still ongoing.

A local charity received an anonymous call at around 2am on Wednesday claiming that a device had been left in the Drumsurn area and alerted the police.

Searches for the device are continuing however nothing untoward has been found.

Police have issued a warning to the public to be vigilant in the area.

'Viable Device' Found In Newtownabbey
A 'viable device' has been found in Newtownabbey in the midst of a security alert. The device was discovered in the Cherrylands/Cloughfern area shortly after 06:00 this morning. The area was cordoned off as army bomb experts examined the device and carried out a controlled explosion.

Viable Incendiary Device Found On Police Station Grounds
A controlled explosion has been carried out on a viable incendiary device discovered on the grounds of Ballycastle Police Station, Co Antrim. A second device found has been declared a hoax. They were discovered on the Ramoan Road on Thursday morning. A number of businesses were forced to close during the alert, however they have now reopened.

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In West Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. The device was found in the Andersonstown area on Saturday night, 15 July. A number of residents had to be evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned. The device was made safe and has been retaken for further examination.

Security Alert In Coleraine
Residents have been evacuated from their homes following a security alert in Coleraine. A suspicious device was discovered in the Glebe Avenue area on Friday. Police are currently at the scene and the road has been closed.

Maghaberry bomb alert a hoax
Police have declared a bomb alert in a Co Antrim village as a hoax. A suspicious device was found in a car parked at a pub in the village of Maghaberry early this morning. Several families had to be evacuated from their homes during the alert which was later declared a hoax after army bomb experts examined the device.
