Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In L'Derry
A man has died after being hit by a car in L'Derry.
The pedestrian, in his 20s, was walking on the Tirkeeran Road in Garvagh when he was knocked down by a Volkswagen van at around 7.40am on Thursday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
No other information has been released.

Two people are being treated in hospital after being injured by a car involved in a police chase across Belfast. A female pedestrian was struck by a car as it was being pursued by police on Clifton Street in the north of Belfast at around 3.30pm on Thursday, 26 July. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Newtownards, Co Down. The incident happened at around 8am on the Belfast Road. The man, aged in his 30s, is in a serious condition at Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The road has been reopened. No further details have been released.

A silver Opel Omega is believed to have been travelling from the direction of L'Derry when it hit two men. A man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at Altnaglevin Hospital.
