Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In L'Derry

A man has died after being hit by a car in L'Derry.

The pedestrian, in his 20s, was walking on the Tirkeeran Road in Garvagh when he was knocked down by a Volkswagen van at around 7.40am on Thursday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

No other information has been released.

Pedestrian Hit By Car In Co Down
A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Newtownards, Co Down. The incident happened at around 8am on the Belfast Road. The man, aged in his 30s, is in a serious condition at Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The road has been reopened. No further details have been released.

Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Donegal
A man struck by a car in Donegal has died in hospital in Co L'Derry. The collision happened at Bridgend just before midnight on Saturday, 10 March. A silver Opel Omega is believed to have been travelling from the direction of L'Derry when it hit two men. A man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at Altnaglevin Hospital.

Investigation Launched Following Suspected Hit And Run In East Belfast
An investigation has been launched following a suspected hit and run collision in east Belfast. A woman and a young girl were knocked down at a pedestrian crossing on the Newtownards Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, 10 January. The black car failed to stay at the scene and made off in the direction of Dundonald.
