Former Soldier Released In Bloody Sunday Investigation
A former soldier arrested by detectives investigating the events of Bloody Sunday has been released.
Fourteen people died after soldiers opened fire during a civil rights march in the Bogside area of L'Derry in 1972.
The 66-year-old man was detained in Co Antrim on Tuesday by detectives from the Legacy Investigation Branch. He has been released pending further enquiries.
He was the first person to be arrested as part of the Bloody Sunday investigation.

The most expensive such probe ever held is to finally make its report public. The Bloody Sunday Inquiry by Lord Saville opened at Derry's Guildhall in 1998 and heard evidence from more than 900 people. It finished hearing evidence in 2004, with the report initially due for publication the following year.

Bloody Sunday Investigation
Detectives investigating the events of Bloody Sunday have said they are to re-interview witnesses who gave evidence to the Saville Inquiry. More than 1,000 witnesses, including local people and former soldiers, are being asked to submit statements as part of the criminal investigation into the events.

A controversial film about events surrounding the 'Bloody Sunday' shootings in Londonderry 30 years ago has been recognised with a top award at the Berlin Film Festival. The film, which stars 'Cold Feet' actor James Nesbitt, beat off competition from 400 other entrants to land the festival's top award – the Golden Bear Award.
