Security Alert In L'Derry

Police are warning people in L'Derry to be vigilant following a security alert in the Drumsurn area.

A local charity received a call at around 2am on Wednesday and were told that a device had been left close to the junction of the Leghavallon Road.

Police are at the scene and the road remains closed.

Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Ó hOisín has condemned the incident.

He said: "This has brought nothing but disruption to the area and brought inconvenience to the local community.

"Whoever is behind this incident has nothing to offer the community and should stop these actions immediately."
