Armagh textile firm goes into receivership
An Armagh textile company has been forced to call in receivers because of "financial and trading" difficulties.
Glenanne Jacquards Ltd employs approximately 15 people and specialises in design and custom weaving of fine fabrics for interior designers and specifiers.
Garth Calow, who has been appointed Administrative Receiver, said production at the company's factory had been "suspended some time ago and there are currently no employees on site".
"Despite the difficulties prior to our appointment, this is a specialist business with niche markets worldwide. Our immediate priority is to establish Glenanne’s financial position and to determine what might be salvaged," the statement added.
Glenanne has supplied fabrics to leading international designers and provided interior fabric for the Los Angeles home of actress Jane Fonda.
The company has also supplied interior fabrics to hotels including the Savoy and Dorchester in London and the MGM in Las Vegas.
