Man Shot In Both Legs In North Belfast
A man has been shot in both legs in north Belfast.
The shooting occurred in the Carlisle Parade area at approximately 8pm on Monday.
The victim, in his 20s, is being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the attack and has been detained by the police.
Sinn Féin Councillor JJ Magee condemned the attack.
He said: "Again we see a self appointed gangs carrying out an attack on a man against the wishes of the vast majority of this community.
"These people offer nothing to the people of the New Lodge but threats and intimidation and they need to stop hiding behind the name of republicanism.
"There is no justification for attacks like this and those responsible need to stop acting against the interests of their community."

A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in west Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Glenwood Court, Poleglass, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 20 October. He has been named locally as Joe Reilly, aged 43.

An investigation has been launched into a shooting in west Belfast. Police say that a man in his 20s was shot in the legs at about 20:00 on Saturday. The attack happened in an alleyway off Shaws Road in the west of the city. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in north Belfast. Police have reported that a 20-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting at about 01:00 on Monday morning at Havana Walk in Ardoyne. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation into the shooting is underway.
