Man Arrested Over Pipe Bomb Attack In Co Antrim

A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a pipe bomb attack in Ahoghill, Co Antrim, earlier this month.

Two pipe bombs were found in the Brookfield Gardens area on Thursday 10 September.

The devices went off at two separate addresses, however no-one was injured in the attack.

Police arrested the man in the Cullybackey area on Thursday. He is being detained at Antrim police station.

A house in Ballymoney was also searched by police as part of the same investigation.

Man Arrested Over 1975 Bomb Attack
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal bomb attack on a bar on the Shankill Road over 36 years ago. Five people were killed and 60 others were injured in the attack at Mountainview Tavern on 5 April 1975. The 54-year-old is being questioned at Antrim police station.

Early Morning Petrol Bomb Attack Racial
A foreign national woman who is eight months pregnant was among four people targeted in a petrol bomb attack at the weekend. Police believe that the incident - in County Tyrone - was racial in its nature.

TWO PENSIONERS ESCAPE INJURY IN PETROL BOMB ATTACK
TWO elderly Protestant sisters have escaped injury after a petrol bomb attack on their East Belfast home. The women, aged 73 and 79, escaped injury after a passing police patrol discovered a fire at their home and forced their way into the house in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

CIRA behind nail bomb attack on police station
The Continuity IRA (CIRA) has admitted that it carried out the nail bomb attack on a police station in north Belfast last night. At around 9.45pm, two devices were thrown over the perimeter fence of Antrim Road police station – one exploded and caused superficial damage, the other failed to detonate.

Spanish police arrest IRA bombing suspect
Spanish police have arrested a man in connection with the bombing of an army barracks in Lisburn eight years ago. Michael Gerard Rogan, 44, from Easton Avenue in north Belfast, was arrested in the holiday resort of Playa de las Americas in Tenerife on Monday.
