New Community Development Programmes Launch In Belfast
Belfast Lord Mayor, Arder Carson, has launched 12 free to attend community development workshops to be delivered across the city.
The programmes will be run by Belfast City Council in partnership with other leading organisations to ensure community groups have the right skills to meet the needs of people in their area.
Mr Carson said: "As a former community worker, I know from personal experience that these training programmes will be a massive benefit to the development of communities across Belfast.
"As part of my 'Community Fridays' initiative I want to celebrate the work being carried out in communities across the city. I would encourage as many groups as possible to sign up to these free training programmes and experience the positive impact it will have within their local area.”
Due to commence in October, the workshops will take place in 11 community centres over the next five months."
