Woman Injured In Stabbing Attack

A 35-year-old woman is in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a stabbing attack in west Belfast.

The incident occurred at a property in the Woodside View area of Poleglass at around 6pm on Monday.

A man and woman called to the house and there is believed to have been an altercation at the door.

The victim was stabbed in the stomach.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in north Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann said: "I unreservedly condemn this attack. Using knives as a weapon to attack someone often results in death or life-changing injuries.

"This has a wide-reaching impact on victims, their families and the wider community.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this attack to contact the PSNI."
