Two Arrested Over Stabbing Attack In West Belfast

Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing attack in west Belfast.

The incident happened in the Cloona Manor area at around 2am on Monday.

Two women, one in her thirties and one in her fifties, were both stabbed and taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman remain in police custody.

Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann said: "There is the potential for death or life changing injures when knives are used so I am relieved that no one has been seriously injured in this incident.

"I hope that both women make a full and speedy recovery and anyone with any information on the incident should bring it forward to the PSNI."

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.

Man Injured In Banbridge Stabbing Incident
Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Banbridge, County Down. The attack happened at Golf Terrace just after 11pm on Thursday. A man was found stabbed at the scene, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He is currently being treated in hospital.

Arrest Over Stabbing Incident At Hotel In Newtownabbey
Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident at a hotel in Newtownabbey. The victim, believed to be in his 30s, is currently in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police attended the scene at the Chimney Corner Hotel at around 3am on Sunday.

Man dies following stabbing incident
A man has died following a stabbing incident in Co Down this morning. Police were called to the flat close to the centre of Bangor at around 3am after an alarm was raised. Inside they found the body of a man believed to be in his 60's who had been stabbed several times. A second man was also found with multiple stab wounds.
