Petrol Bomb Attack On House In South Belfast Condemned

A petrol bomb attack on a house in south Belfast has been condemned by Alliance MLA Anna Lo.

The device was thrown at the window of a property on Fortuna Street, off the Donegall Road, at around 11.30pm on Tuesday.

A man and his 10-year-old autistic daughter escaped without injury. A motive for the attack has not yet been established and the culprit is believed to have escaped from the scene on a bicycle.

Ms Lo said: "It appears to be simply luck that this attack did not lead to serious injury or even death, but it still would have been petrifying for this man and his daughter. Attacks like this create fear and hark back to a time people want to leave behind.

"No-one can even attempt to justify an attack like this. The person behind this is clearly a dangerous individual."
