Man Attacked In Newtownards

A man has suffered a head injury after being attacked by two men in Newtownards, Co Down, around midnight on Monday.

The victim, 51, was assaulted outside Jasmine House takeaway in South Street.

The man is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The first man is described as aged in his mid-20s, approximately six feet in height with fair hair and slim build. He was wearing jeans and a white top.

The second man, also believed to be in his mid-20s, is described as approximately six feet in height with fair hair and a stocky build. He was wearing jeans and a brown jumper.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Teenagers injured in separate paramilitary attacks
An 18-year-old-man and a 17-year-old-youth have been injured in separate paramilitary style attacks last night. The 17-year-old youth was attacked by two men in an alleyway in the Kilclief Gardens area of Bangor at around 9.25pm. His attackers are described as being dressed in black and wearing scarves to hide their faces.

Police Appeal For Missing Man
Police in Armagh are appealing for help to trace 26-year-old Anthony Shortt. Mr Shortt has been missing since Sunday, 13 September, at around 8.30am. He is described as being 180cm tall, of medium build with blue eyes and dirty fair hair. When last seen he was wearing a brown t-shirt, jeans and trainers.

Taxi Driver Threatened In West Belfast
A taxi driver has been threatened by two teenagers in west Belfast. The incident happened in Lady Street at around 11pm on Thursday night. Two males got into the taxi and one pulled the handbrake up and the other, who was in the back of the taxi, had a chain. The taxi driver managed to get the pair out of the vehicle and drove off.

Police express concern over missing persons
Police at Grosvenor Road in Belfast have expressed concern about a missing 15-year-old girl. Ciara Higgins from the Divis area has been missing since Sunday 20th April. She is described as being 5"1' tall, of medium build with long curly ginger hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion.
