Newry man in court over doctor attack
A 42-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with an alleged knife attack at a Co Down hospital.
Paul McCrossan from Canal Street in Newry appeared before Newry Magistrates' Court on Friday, charged with the attempted malicious wounding of a consultant psychiatrist at Daisy Hill Hospital in the town on Thursday.
Mr Crossan was also charged with possession of an offensive, namely a large kitchen knife.
He was remanded in custody until 8 October.

Man remanded in custody on murder charge
A Co Down man has been remanded in custody today after being charged with murder. James Joseph McEvoy, 26, from Rathmore Road in Newry appeared at Armagh Magistrate's Court on Tuesday accused of shooting Johnny Graham as he parked his car at a house in the nationalist Ardcarne Park area of Newry at about 1am last Thursday.

A 30-year-old man was charged with injuring two boys in a hit and run incident on January 3 in Belfast. Patrick Joseph William Thomas Collins, of no fixed address, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday, January 7, charged with 11 offences including dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody.

A man charged with the murder of another man found dead in Banbridge is to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, 13 July. The body of 55-year-old Richard Gerard Scullion was found at a property in the Millmount Court area on Monday, 09 July. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Nelson Watson, 59, from Clanmorris Street in the Tiger's Bay area of the city, is accused of the murder of 42-year-old Barbara Taggart, who is understood to have died after a fire in his flat, on Saturday night.
