Man Assaulted In Ballyclare

A man has been attacked by another male for refusing to give him money in Ballyclare.

The pair were involved in an altercation in the Mill Road area on Monday.

The victim was hit on the head and suffered swelling to the side of his face.

The man who assaulted him is described as tall, with short black hair and glasses. He was wearing a red coloured coat and blue jeans.

He made off with a sum of cash.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Teen Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Gerard Quinn
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man in L'Derry. Gerard Quinn was attacked in the Milldale Crescent area at around 10.25pm on Saturday, 21 May. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he later died.

Woman sexually assaulted in Londonderry
A woman has been sexually assaulted in an alleyway in Londonderry, according to police. The incident took place at around 1.00am this morning between Great James Street and Sackville Street. It is understood a man forced the woman to the ground after grabbing her from behind, before sexually assaulting her.

Christmas Parking Rates For NI Towns
Twenty-five towns in Northern Ireland are to benefit from a special Christmas parking rate, it has been revealed. The Department for Regional Development has said some 95 car parks will be affiliated with the rate, with five hours of parking costing motorists just £1.

Ballyclare Bomb Alert Declared A Hoax
Danny Kinahan, Ulster Unionist MLA for South Antrim, has condemned those responsible for a bomb alert near Ballyclare Police Station this morning. Local people had to be evacuated from their homes and children making their way to school were also put at risk.

Rathlin Fire Brought Under Control
Fire crews from across Northern Ireland have been working to bring a large gorse fire under control. Emergency services were called shortly after 1pm on Thursday after a gorse fire, spanning more than one kilometre, broke out on Rathlin Island. It is understood the blaze started after some rubbish caught fire.
