Food And Drink Firms Recognised In UK Great Taste Awards
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Jonathan Bell has congratulated the Northern Ireland Food and Drink companies recognised in the 2015 UK Great Taste Awards.
Three local companies were awarded the highest accolade of three gold stars for their products in the prestigious annual event organised by the influential UK Guild of Fine Food with 70 local companies securing almost 200 gold stars in total.
The Minister said: "Food and drink is a dynamic and progressive industry that's positioned for even faster growth particularly in markets outside Northern Ireland. It is an industry both I and Invest Northern Ireland are keen to assist in achieving its undoubted potential.
"The Great Taste Awards highlight how small local businesses are increasingly catching the eye of major international retailers and food service organisations.
"I would like to congratulate all of those who have been recognised for their hard work and dedication. In particular I would like to highlight the three companies who achieved the three gold stars award. This award went to Dale Farm for its Fivemiletown Ballyoak cheese, Genesis Crafty for its Supervalu Brown Soda Loaf, and BaronsCourt Estate for its Wild Sika Venison French Rack."

Forty-six food and drink companies racked up a record 195 gold stars for quality products in this year’s UK Great Taste Awards, Alastair Hamilton, Invest Northern Ireland Chief Executive, announced today. Hannan Meats in Moira also set an all-time record in the awards by winning 26 gold stars, the highest ever won by a single producer.
