Decora Blind Systems To Create 80 New Jobs
Decora Blind Systems based in Lisburn has announced it is to create 80 new jobs over the next two years.
The family-owned blind manufacturing business is benefiting from an Invest Northern Ireland employment grant of £240,000 towards the new jobs. Recruitment is underway and 43 of the roles are already in place.
Stuart Dickson, Managing Director of Decora Blinds Systems, said: "Decora's business growth over the past five years has been consistent. Our continued goal is to ensure employee, customer and supplier relationships are harnessed to their full potential. This makes sure that we continue to have the passion, creativity and imagination to continue to produce blind solutions that deliver and communicate value to our customers. We use this dedicated work ethic along with state of the art processes and systems for endless product possibilities. We are striving to create new opportunities for continued growth across our workforce to support the corporate strategy."

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster today announced that Lisburn company Decora Blind Systems is creating 79 jobs with support from Invest Northern Ireland’s Jobs Fund. The company, which produces window blinds, started as a small family-owned business in 1979 and has grown into a dynamic, innovative enterprise currently employing 377 people.

A unique sporting event is underway in south Belfast this week - the World Blind Golf Championship. Coming on top of news that Irishman Padraig Harrington took the honours at the USPGA Championship at Oakland Hills yesterday, this is great news for sports fans - disabled of able-bodied.

A surprising sport is coming to Northern Ireland - blind golfing. Belfast's Belvoir Park Golf Club will host the World Blind Golf Championships from 10 - 12 August. With one of the 'driving forces' behind the Championships being Comber's Jan Dinsdale - one of the top lady blind golfers in the world - the initiative is all the more appropriate.
