Five Arrested In Connection With Attempted Murder Of Police In Lurgan
Five people have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of police in Lurgan, Co Armagh, last weekend.
Families had to be evacuated from their homes during the security operation in the Victoria Street area on Saturday.
Three men, aged 31, 36 and 46, were arrested on Thursday. Another two men, aged 28 and 46, were arrested on Friday morning.
Detective Superintendent Karen Baxter from Serious Crime Branch said: "A number of properties have been searched and several items have been removed for forensic examination. The suspects have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
"This is an active and ongoing investigation. I would like to thank the community for their continued patience and support. I would again urge people to remain vigilant. If you notice anything suspicious please contact us straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency."
Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
