Sinn Féin MLA Helps Tackle Would-Be Car Thief

A Sinn Féin MLA has helped tackle a would-be car thief in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Mr Gerry Kelly said he was woken up by noise close to his house at around 5am.

Mr Kelly said: "I got dressed and went outside and discovered that someone had broken in to one of my neighbours' houses and was appeared to be stealing their car.

"The police were called and I helped my neighbour restrain the individual until the police arrived.

"I want to thank the passing motorist who raised the alarm and blocked the car from leaving the driveway."
