Alliance Welcomes Launch Of Community Festival
Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle has welcomed the launch of a community festival which will see Van Morrison play special homecoming concerts.
The EastSide Arts Festival will see a wide range of events, including music, film, talks, workshops and exhibitions, take place at various locations throughout East Belfast. It will culminate in 'Van the Man' playing two gigs on Cyprus Avenue, the local street made famous worldwide through Morrison's song.
East Belfast MLA Mr Lyttle said the EastSide Arts Festival was a perfect opportunity to put the area on the map in a positive way.
He said: "This is now the fourth annual festival and it is clearly going from strength to strength, which can be seen in the number and diversity of events. There really is something for everyone, with celebrations of artists from East Belfast and the welcoming of others to the area."
