Two Men To Appear In Court Charged With Interface Trouble

Two men are due to appear in court today, 07 July, charged with interface trouble in east Belfast.

The men, aged 17 and 21, have been accused of a number of public order offences including riotous behaviour.

The charges relate to recent incidents of disorder at interface areas, according to the police.

Loyalists launch new interface concern group
Concerned loyalists have launched a new task force aimed at stamping out trouble at some of Belfast's main interface areas. The Protestant Interface Network is a network of individuals that aim to tackle trouble in areas such Whitewell Road, Limestone Road and Ardoyne.

Officer injured in hammer assault
A police officer has been injured after being struck with a hammer in Co Armagh at the weekend. The incident occurred after officers were called to the Thomas Street area of Portadown on Sunday after a Portuguese man reported damage to his car. When officers arrived they saw a man being assaulted in a separate incident nearby.
