Credit Union Robbed In West Belfast

A credit union has been robbed in west Belfast.

The incident occurred on the Springfield Road on Thursday just after 5pm.

Two men, one armed with a firearm, approached a female staff member and demanded money. One of the men was wearing a cream hooded top and the other a black hooded top.

They made off with a sum of money in a red Mitsubishi Carisma driven by a third man.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally said: "Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would ask for anyone who noticed the red coloured Mitsubishi car or any suspicious activity in the area between just before 5 pm or anyone with any information to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in L'Derry. The victim, aged in his thirties, was targeted in the Ballymagroarty area shortly after 10pm on Wednesday night, 27 November. A man has been marched to a cash machine and ordered to withdraw money by two men armed with a large kitchen knife. Police are hunting the culprits after they robbed a house in south Belfast and threatened the occupants before stealing phones, cash and wallets. The incident occurred in the Stranmillis Park Area, shortly after 10.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man suffered head injuries during an assault in County Antrim. The man in his 20s was attacked on Portglenone's Main Street shortly after midnight on Sunday 03 March.

Masked Men Attack Couple In Co Antrim
Five masked men have attacked a man and woman in Co Antrim. The gang, who were armed with crowbars, also ransacked the property in the Greenhill Road area in Ballymoney between 8.15pm and 8.30pm on Monday, 16 November, and made off with a sum of cash. The men assaulted the man and woman inside the house.

Man Jailed for Killing Mother In Cookstown
A 47-year-old man has been jailed for six years for killing his mother in Cookstown. Barry Noone pleaded guilty to manslaughter by way of diminished responsibility for the death of his 77-year-old mother, Margaret Una Noone. The incident occurred in June 2022. Noone will serve half of his sentence in custody and the other half on licence.
