NIE To Upgrade Overhead Power Lines In Co Fermanagh
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) has announced it is investing £1 million to upgrade overhead power lines in the Derrygonnelly area, Co Fermanagh.
The firm will be starting a six month programme of work in the Derrygonnelly, Springfield, Monea & Boho areas.
This significant programme of work will see around £1.2 million being invested in the local electricity infrastructure and is intended to provide greater security of supply going forward.
Alongside NIE workers, contractors from SPIE, will be replacing overhead lines, installing heavier poles and cutting back trees and vegetation from the network. This work will strengthen the network and ensure that it can carry greater capacity.
