Refurbishment Funding Lost At Exploris Centre
Funding promised to the Exploris aquarium has been lost following a failure to appoint a contractor for planned refurbishment work.
A refurbishment programme was established for the centre after the Department of the Environment committed funding of £214,000. However, according to a report by the BBC, that funding has now been lost after Ards Borough Council "failed to appoint a contractor".
It is understood that the Portaferry, Co Down, attraction will now remain closed, with no indication of when it might reopen.

Police are seeking the owner of a car following a crash in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The PSNI believes the driver of the red Clio lost control on the Bog Road in Ballymena and made off on foot. Significant damage was caused to the vehicle which rolled several times.
