Man Receives Suspended Sentence For Threatening Message To Anna Lo Online
A man has received a suspended sentence for posting a threatening message on an Alliance MLA's Facebook page.
David John Wylie was handed a four month sentence, suspended for three years, after posting a photo of himself with what appeared to be a gun with the message "Anna Lo you're next".
Alliance South Belfast MLA, Anna Lo, has welcomed the judgement.
She said: "I welcome the outcome of this case. I hope this shows that those who send offensive and threatening messages will have to deal with the full force of the courts and face the consequences of their actions.
"Those sending these sorts of messages will never deter Alliance from working on behalf of everyone to build a safe, shared and prosperous society for all.
"I hope this judgement will act as a deterrent to others from sending such messages on social media."
