CEM complete £1.5m City Airport upgrade
Belfast-based CEM Systems has completed a contract to extend its access control system at Belfast City Airport to accommodate a major £1.5 million upgrade programme.
The CEM AC2000 Airport Edition (AC2000 AE) system has been extended to control access to the new bmi Business Class lounges and a modern air-bridge facility at the airport.
With emphasis on increasing standards of convenience and comfort to its passengers, the new lounges, which overlook the apron and runway, offer high levels of comfort for the airline's business travellers while the addition of a dedicated air-bridge makes the boarding process more efficient.
Philip Verner, Marketing Manager at CEM Systems said: “CEM is delighted to be associated with these impressive new facilities at Belfast City airport.
“Since the initial installation the system has been extended to meet the airport’s continuing development plans. This recent project once again highlights how easily the AC2000 AE system can be expanded to meet the airports’ needs.”
In addition to the terminal building the AC2000 AE system installed at Belfast City provides access control to staff car park areas.
AC2000 AE has a proven record as one of the most reliable and resilient airport security solutions available. Installed at many of the world’s leading airports, AC2000 AE can be developed to meet the specific needs of each airport with new functionality added as the airport's security needs change over time.
