Third Man Arrested Following Death Threat To Football Manager

A third man has been arrested after a threatening letter was sent to Northern Irish football manager.

Greater Manchester Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Darren Kelly, 35, was appointed Oldham Athletic manager on 5 May.

Mr Kelly has recently had to deny his support for the IRA over a tweet sent to Martin McGuinness.

Two males aged 27 and 42 were also arrested on 12 May and have been bailed until 15 June.

Detective Inspector Jason Bryne said: "The letter sent to the club made some extremely serious threats to a number of individuals and we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness.

"We have now made three arrests after a third man that we were keen to speak to handed himself into a police station yesterday."
