Man Escapes Injury After 'Suspected' Gun Jams In North Belfast

A man has escaped injury after a suspected gun jammed during an attempted shooting attack in north Belfast.

The incident occurred at Mount Vernon Lane at around 10.20pm on Wednesday.

Two masked men forced the victim to the ground and produced a gun.

When the attacker attempted to fire the weapon it is believed to have jammed. They both made off on foot.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

The suspected cocaine was seized by officers from the local Titanic and East Belfast Neighbourhood Team during a planned search of a property in Bryson street. The 22-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a number of drugs and weapons offences.

Teenager killed in gun attack in north Belfast
A 19-year-old has been shot and killed in a gun attack in north Belfast this morning. The attack, which has been blamed on the UVF, took place at around 1.30am when three men forced their way into a house in Dhu Varren Crescent in the Woodvale area of the City. The victim died later in hospital.

Woman 'Shaken' Following Attempted Robbery In East Belfast
A woman has been left shaken after a man is believed to have used a stun gun during an attempted robbery in east Belfast. The incident happened at businesses premises on the Woodstock Road at around 9.15am on Friday, 31 March. Masked men entered the building and demanded the female worker to hand over money.

Delivery Driver Robbed In North Belfast
A delivery driver has been robbed after a man, pointed a suspected gun at him, in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Ballysillan area shortly after 3am on Friday, 16 February. The suspect approached the driver and pointed what is believed to have been a gun at him and demanded he hand over his money.
