Plans Announced To Develop Business Park At Former School In Castlederg
Crivens Properties has announced proposals to develop a mixed-use Business Park at a former school in Castlederg.
The plans have been welcomed by SDLP MLA for west Tyrone, Joe Byrne.
He said: "It is good to see a local development company, Crivens Properties, wanting to turn the former secondary school premises into a Business Industrial Park.
"This can create employment opportunities for local people and help new businesses to be housed in Castlederg. Castlederg has suffered a lot during the Troubles and the town is going through a regeneration process over recent years.
"The new St Eugene's project offers a great opportunity to help create employment opportunities for the future of Castlederg."
Farmer Fined £500 For Transporting Unfit Sheep
A farmer has been fined £500 for transporting a sheep that was not fit for the journey.
Nigel Conway from Drumlister Road, Sixmilecross, Omagh, pleaded guilty at Craigavon Magistrates' Court today and was also ordered to pay a £15 offenders levy and £56 court costs.
Mr Conway transported a consignment of sheep for slaughter to an abattoir, where a DARD Veterinary Officer examined the sheep and discovered that one of them had a head injury, a laceration and fractured skull. In the opinion of the Veterinary Officer, the injury had been caused by a broken horn and the sheep was unfit for transport as a result.
Businesses Urged To Attend Information Session
Businesses in the electrical trade are being invited to an information session in City Hall this month to hear about a significant procurement opportunity with Belfast City Council.
Companies that specialise in supplying electrical equipment will hear about the tender.
The event on Wednesday 13 Maywill inform businesses about the tender for the supply of electrical equipment including cables, consumables, tools and lamps for direct delivery to council sites and stores at Duncrue Road.
There will be a short presentation on the council’s procurement processes and an overview of the tender opportunity.
Businesses must register for the Information Seminar and they can do so by contacting the council's Economic Development Unit directly on 028 9027 0482 or by email at economicdevelopment@belfastcity.gov.uk by Monday 11 May.

Green Light For Business Park In Crumlin
Environment Minister Mark H Durkan has said planning approval has been recommended for a business park near Crumlin. The plans are for 23 small business units and 2,000 square metres of floor-space and would be located on part of a former World War Two Air Force camp site which is associated with the Langford Lodge airfield.
