Man charged with car deaths

A 32-year-old man has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving following the deaths of two teenagers in Co Antrim last week.

David McAuley, 15, from Seacourt Road in Larne and Gavin O'Neill, 16, from Gortin Park in Carnlough died when the white Ford Escort Cosworth in which they were travelling hit a wall on the Marine Road in Carnlough in the early hours of last Tuesday.

The man, who was also charged with being unfit to drive through alcohol, was released on police bail and will appear in court in Larne on Friday.

Tragedy As Second Man Killed By Train
A 62-year-old man has died in the Irish Republic after being hit by a train - the second such incident inside two days. The accident happened on the Ennis to Colbert line in the townland of Ralahine South, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare just after 10pm last night. It is believed the man was taking farm animals over the track at the time.

NI Man Charged Over 39 Trailer Deaths
A second man from Northern Ireland has appeared in court on charges connected to the mass fatality discovered in a lorry container in Grays, Essex last week. Eamon Harrison from Mayobridge in Co Down is charged with 39 offences of manslaughter, as well as human trafficking and immigration offences.

Man Charged With Murder Over Dromore Deaths
Detectives investigating the deaths of three women in the Dromore area have charged a 66-year-old man with murder. Leslie Ross arrived at Armagh Magistrates' Court this morning, following charges last night of the murder of 47-year-old Michelle Bickerstaff in April 2012 and 50-year-old Margaret Weise in August 2007.

Man charged over two road deaths
A man is to appear in court charged with causing the deaths of two people by dangerous driving. The charges relate to a 2am crash on December 18 last year when two people were killed on the Falls Road.

Man jailed for six and a half years for car deaths
A man who pleaded guilty to causing the death of two teenagers by dangerous driving has been jailed for six and a half years. Paul Jude Johnston, 34, formerly of Ballymena Road, Carnlough, had pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of Gavin O'Neill, 16, and David McAuley, 15, both passengers in his car, on 27 August 2003.
