Fermanagh Hurler Killed In Car Crash

Fermanagh hurler Shane Mulholland has been killed in a car crash between Lisnaskea and Derrylin on Friday evening.

One adult and two children in the other vehicle received treatment in hospital however they have been discharged.

Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín expressed her sadness.

She said: "Shane was a talented and energetic person who gave so much in life and his untimely passing will leave a deep void in the lives of those who were fortunate to know him.

"I am deeply saddened by his loss and offer my sincerest condolences to his wife Vanessa, his young daughter Aisling and the entire Mulholland family circle. It is a time of unimaginable grief for them and they are very much in my thoughts at this time."

Couple Win £2,500 In Case Against Car Dealer
A couple who claimed they were racially harassed while buying a car from a dealer have been awarded £2,500 in compensation. Kin Hung Wong, of Chinese descent, and his wife Ms Law took the case against John Mulholland Motors under the Race Relations Order with the support of the Equality Commission.

Taxi Firm Agrees Škoda Deal
Northern Ireland's car industry is to receive a major boost after a deal worth £2.5m was agreed between a local dealership and a Belfast-based taxi firm. John Mulholland Motors Ltd, NI's largest Škoda retailer, and Value Cabs have signed the massive deal which will see 140 Škoda Superb hatch and estates supplied to Value Cabs.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police renew appeal about north Belfast murder
Police have renewed their appeal for information about the murder of a man in north Belfast a year ago. Frankie Mulholland (34) was attacked at around 8pm on December 3 2001 as he sat in his car, parked near a petrol station on the Upper Crumlin Road.

Jayne Lands 'Minder' Role
Channel Five's successful remake of a classic 80s TV series is shortly to feature Northern Ireland-based talent. Coleraine actress Jayne Wisener will be appearing later this month in one of the forthcoming episodes of the comedy Minder.
