Primary School In Holywood Burgled

Thieves have stolen a safe containing money from a primary school in Holywood, County Down.

The burglary occurred at St Patrick's Primary School at Church View sometime between 5pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

A laptop was also stolen.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Two Co Antrim primary schools are to close because of falling rolls. The Sinn Fein Education Minister, John O'Dowd, has approved a proposal to close Lourdes Primary School, Whitehead: "I have agreed to the closure [because of] a decline in enrolments in recent years [that] has given rise to concern.
