Prince Charles arrives for two-day visit
Prince Charles has arrived in Northern Ireland today as part of a two-day visit to the province.
The Prince's first engagement saw him attend a reception at the headquarters of Disability Action to mark European Year of People with Disabilities.
He was welcomed The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Martin Morgan who said the Prince's visit was acknowledgement of the vital work which Disability Action has been undertaking in campaigning and providing services for people with a wide range of physical, hidden, learning, sensory and mental health disabilities.
Prince Charles also met members of staff and board members of Disability Action, which provides services to more than 45,000 disabled people each year.
He later signed the visitor's book before leaving for his next engagement at the Royal Victoria Hospital where he officially opened the hospital's new state-of-the-art wing.
He was welcomed there by NIO Minister Angela Smith and the Royal's chief executive William McKee.

City Hall Hosts Royal Visitor
There has been a royal visit to Belfast today - but this time it was Saudi Royal family members who were welcomed to the City Hall. HRH Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud and HRH Prince Faisal are at the start of their two-day visit to NI and met Lord Mayor, Councillor Pat Convery and Chief Executive of Belfast City Council, Peter McNaney.

Sinn Féin To Attend Events Marking Prince Charles Visit
Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams has announced representatives from the party will attend events marking Prince Charles's visit to Ireland. The prince will be accompanied by his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, as they travel to both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Mr Adams stated the visit is a chance to develop "a healing process".

Green Party Welcomes Decision To Save Promote Learning Disability Service
The Green Party has welcomed the decision by charity & social, Orchardville, to run the Promote Learning Disability Service in Bangor after it was under threat of closure. Although delighted by the news, Councillor McKee said that it was "disgraceful" that day opportunity placements for 52 adults were put under threat.
