Man Armed With Meat Cleaver Robs Bookmakers In Lurgan
A man armed with a meat cleaver has robbed a bookmakers in Lurgan, County Armagh.
The incident occurred just after 9pm on Thursday and a sum of cash was taken.
A police spokesperson said: The robber made off from the bookmakers on foot in the direction of Ulster Street.
"He's described as being around 5’ 10” tall, and was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a green hoodie, tied at the neck and covering most of his face.
"We are keen to identify the male captured on the CCTV and we are asking anyone who believes they may know his identity to get in touch with us at Lurgan CID."

A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Fresh Appeal For Information On Shane Whitla Murder
PSNI detectives investigating the murder of 39-year-old Shane Whitla in Lurgan have issued an appeal for information and witnesses. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mr Whitla died of a gunshot wound to the chest. According to report, he had also suffered a serious puncture wound to his neck.

Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a man and seized a significant amount of cannabis in Ballygawley. Officers from the Organised Crime Branch raided a property in the Dungannon Road area on Tuesday afternoon. Inside, they discovered a sophisticated cannabis factory containing drugs worth an estimated £200,000.
