East Belfast Electrical Firm Ceases Trading
An east Belfast electrical firm has ceased trading.
S&R Electrics, better known as 'Sam's Yer Man' has also closed its outlet in Newtownards.
20 staff at the family-run firm have been made redundant.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed it will be in contact with customers who have ordered and paid deposits for goods.

Maintenance Company Jobs In Crisis
Jobs are under threat at a maintenance company in Londonderry. Up to 45 employees at McGurk and Moore could lose their jobs after the firm missed out on a contract with North and West Housing Association. A senior manager with the company said they have written to the preferred bidder to try and keep the jobs open.

Newtownards family assaulted and robbed
Detectives in Newtownards are appealing for information following the robbery and vicious assault of a family in their Co Down home last night. At around 8.50pm, a woman who was leaving her home on the Bangor Road in Newtownards was pushed back into her kitchen and thrown to the floor by two masked men armed with a hammer and a handgun.

Northern Ireland man appointed ECA President
David Dennison has been appointed as the new President of the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA). Taking up his office on 11 May 2002, at a ceremony during the ECA Electrical Industry Conference, the appointment of David Dennison marks the second time a Northern Ireland member has been appointed President of the Association.
