Police Appeal Following Hotel Robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a hotel in Coleraine on Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 11.35am, two members of staff were making their way to a car in the car park of the hotel in the Lodge Road area when an unknown male, carrying a suspected firearm, exited a car and threatened them before making off with a bag containing a sum of cash.

The male is described as being approximately 5'11" tall, of medium build and was wearing a black bomber style jacket and a balaclava. He made off in a silver coloured Citroen C4 car that was being driven by a second male who was also masked.

Man Arrested After Police Car Chase In West Belfast
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast. The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on. They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.

Man Dies In L'Derry Road Crash
A man has died in a road traffic crash in Co L'Derry. The collision, between a van and a car, occurred on the Foreglen Road in Claudy just after 4pm on Tuesday, 02 August. The victim, aged 60, was the passenger of a Mazda 2. He was taken to hospital to be treated where he later died from his injuries.

New Child Car Seat Legislation Introduced
New child car seat legislation has been introduced to offer better protection for children. Child car seats approved under the new standard will offer improved safety features, including a new sizing system (i-Size), to ensure that children are using the correct car seat.
