Man appears in court following soldier shooting
A man has been charged with murder following the shooting of a soldier
in Co Londonderry at the weekend.
The 21-year-old soldier was killed following an incident inside Shackleton Barracks, in Ballykelly.
Police are currently investigation the circumstances of the death which occurred at around 8.30pm on Saturday. However, it is not thought to be paramilitary-related incident.
A 24-year-old man appeared before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Monday.
Elsewhere in Co Londonderry, a taxi driver has escaped injury following a gun attack in the Bushmills Road area of Coleraine.
Two men are believed to have fired upon the taxi as it called for a fare in the area at around 11pm on Saturday.
The men then ran off in the direction of Harpers Hill.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Teenager dies following Derry crash
An 18-year-old man who was seriously injured during a road traffic collision in County Londonderry ten days ago, has died in hospital. The teenager, who has not yet been named, was a passenger in a car, which was in collision with another vehicle at Cam Road, close to Macosquin, at around 2pm on August 6.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Death Stalks Roads Once More
The Province's tragic death toll continues to rise with news that a second person has died following a road traffic accident in County Londonderry, police have said. The two vehicle collision happened on Duncastle Road, Newbuildings, at about 5.45pm on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Co Fermanagh. A 42-year-old man died in the crash which happened on the Belfast Road in Brookeborough at around 8.35am on Friday, 08 June. The man was the driver of one of the vehicles involved. Police are appealing to anyone who may have dash can footage to contact them.
