1,000 New Jobs To Be Create At New Coventry Plant

Up to 1,000 new jobs are to be created in Coventry in a new taxi plant, the London Taxi Company (LTC) has announced.

It is understood that the new £250 million factory will focus on production of the next generation of electric and low-emission vehicles.

The first new vehicles are expected to leave the new Ansty Park site in 2017.

Chinese manufacturer, Geely, is investing the money into the new facility, in what is thought to the biggest investment of its type and is being backed by the government's Regional Growth Fund.

Fine Gael TD for Limerick, Patrick O'Donovan, has welcomed the announcement that 142 new jobs are being created at Foynes Port in Limerick, through the development of a manufacturing plant by CPL Fuels Ireland. The €22 million plant will service the domestic Irish solid fuel market.

Tánaiste announces 1,000 new jobs in Co Tipperary
A leading US medical technology firm is to expand its Co Tipperary manufacturing facility with the creation of 1,000 new jobs. Guidant Corporation will create 500 new high quality manufacturing jobs over the next three years at its Clonmel plant before adding a further 500 new jobs as the operations develop.

Taxi & Bus Conversion Firm To Create New Jobs
An investment of of £2.5m, supported by Invest NI, in a company that converts taxis and buses for wheelchair access, is expected to create up to 19 new jobs. Co Tyrone-based Taxi & bus Conversion Ltd is expanding its business with a new purpose-built factory in Dungannon, and expects to create the new jobs over the next two years.

Combilift To Create 100 New Jobs
Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheal Martin officially opened the new 10 million euro headquarters of Irish company Combilift in Monaghan town, which will create 100 new jobs over the next three years bringing total staff numbers to 250.
